Modern Office Roundup: Concrete Flooring that Anchors Design
In the world of modern office design, flooring plays a pivotal role in setting the tone and ambiance of a space. Concrete flooring, with its versatility and aesthetic appeal, has become a favorite choice for architects and general contractors looking to create innovative and functional environments. Texas Bomanite is proud to showcase some of our recent projects in Dallas and Austin, where our concrete solutions have transformed office spaces into inspiring, world-class designs.
Hines at The Stack
Located in the vibrant Deep Ellum neighborhood, Hines at The Stack is Dallasβs newest architectural marvel. This 16-story mixed-use building offers 14,000 square feet of prime retail space and nearly 200,000 square feet of cutting-edge office areas. Texas Bomanite was entrusted by Balfour Beatty Construction to enhance the 16th-floor office space with our polished concrete flooring.
We installed 4,615 square feet of polished concrete with a 400 grit finish throughout the hallways, ensuring both beauty and durability in this high-traffic area. In “The Hub,” a central cafe space, we added 680 square feet of polished concrete featuring a geometric triangle pattern in shades of Black Orchid. This design choice not only complements the modern aesthetic of The Stack but also provides a robust surface capable of withstanding daily wear and tear. Our collaboration on this project reflects our commitment to quality and innovation, completing the transformation in just over six months.
Hotel Drover
Known as the βCrown Jewel of Mule Alley,β Hotel Drover in Fort Worth seamlessly blends rustic charm with luxury. The hotel, situated in the heart of the Stockyards Historic District, features unique Western-themed decor across its 200 suites and various amenities. Texas Bomanite collaborated with Commerce Construction Co., LP to bring decorative concrete elegance to multiple areas of the hotel.
Our work included 3,962 square feet of Bomanite Ebony acid-stained concrete on the office levels, combined with a two-part polyurethane sealing system for a matte finish. Additionally, we installed 14,525 square feet of sealed concrete across various levels, adding sophistication to the hotelβs aesthetic. The choice of decorative concrete throughout the lobby, event barn, and other areas highlights our ability to marry function with artistic expression, enhancing Hotel Drover’s signature style.
Texas Bankers Association
In downtown Austin, Texas Bomanite was honored to partner with Beck Group to design the new headquarters for the Texas Bankers Association (TBA). This project stands as a testament to our innovative design and craftsmanship.
In the lobby, we installed a custom Modena TG interior, featuring a white base polished to a 400 grit finish. The exposed aggregates, sourced locally from Cactus Canyon, added a unique texture and visual intrigue to the 1,900 square-foot space. Zinc strips were incorporated to enhance the overall aesthetic, creating an elegant yet functional design. For the exterior, Bomanite Revealed was used to maintain a seamless transition from the front porch to the interior, covering 250 square feet and showcasing our expertise in concrete versatility.
This project not only transformed a section of downtown Austin but also set a new benchmark in design, melding aesthetic appeal with functionality. Texas Bomaniteβs work for the TBA exemplifies our commitment to excellence, crafting spaces that resonate with innovation and elegance.
