The newest addition to the Virgin Hotel chain opened their bright red doors in downtown Dallas on December 15th 2019. This unique hotel, comprised of 268 rooms referred to as “chambers”, is located in one of Dallas’ hottest entertainment districts.
Featured hot spots in the hotel include the Commons Club, which is the Virgin’s flagship restaurant and bar that attracts Dallasites on a nightly basis, the Funny Library Coffee Shop, which is a quirky, eclectic workspace ergonomically designed for the traveling businessperson, and an area dedicated for an “Instagram Moment” that features a swing behind a neon lit sign that reads “You Are Welcome.” The Virgin Hotel in Dallas is as dialed in to pop culture and the needs of the young business professional as you can get.
Texas Bomanite was asked to provide 2575 sq ft of Bomanite Sandscape Refined Alloy for the outdoor paving all around the exterior of the hotel, as well as all the structural concrete beams and footings below the decorative paving.
This project involved pouring site mockups for the architects and owners to review and approve prior to starting the project.
Once the project began, areas poured included the front hotel entry, steps and ramps, and the exterior patios and seating areas on the south side of the hotel. The paving finish, selected in the color “Dark Grey,” revealed a light sand exposure designed to sparkle in the light. This finish was chosen with the Virgin Hotel’s iconic “industrial glam” identity in mind.
The project’s general contractor was Andres Construction, and the owner of the project was DD Dunhill Hotel LLC.
