Dripping Springs Elementary Planetary Entrance

Texas Bomanite was selected to transform the entrance of Dripping Springs Elementary into an engaging, educational focal point. The school envisioned a solar system design that would capture the imagination of students while standing up to daily foot traffic. Using Bomaniteโ€™s Micro-Top ST system and custom color capabilities, Texas Bomanite delivered a surface thatโ€™s as durable as it is inspiring.

Imagination & Impact

The design centered around a series of planetary elements rendered in vivid color. Each planet was matched to a specific Pantone shade, requiring a high degree of accuracy and finish consistency across the installation. The final concept needed to integrate educational value, aesthetic appeal, and long-term performance.

Micro-Top Solution

Texas Bomanite applied Micro-Top ST, a spray-applied overlay ideal for decorative concrete surfaces where artistic expression and durability must go hand-in-hand. The design featured 13 custom Pantone-matched colors strategically placed to represent planetary forms, all set against a 1,470 SF field of Bomanite Birch Bark, a subtle and modern neutral tone that allowed the colors to stand out.

Outcome

The completed surface is more than just a decorative featureโ€”itโ€™s a functional, durable design that invites curiosity and creativity from the moment students arrive. This project demonstrates how Texas Bomanite continues to push the boundaries of concrete artistry while meeting the practical needs of educational environments.
