At Borchert Loop Elementary, Texas Bomanite delivered interior and exterior concrete solutions that balance durability, creativity, and everyday performance. Completed in collaboration with VLK Architects and Coleman & Associates, the project reflects how thoughtful decorative concrete can enhance educational environments while meeting the demands of high-traffic campus spaces.
Exterior Courtyard: Place-Based Design Through Concrete
Outdoors, Texas Bomanite installed 2,220 square feet of sandblast with Micro-Top sand to create custom Texas map patterns throughout the courtyard. These graphic inlays add a meaningful, place-based design element that connects students to their local identity while elevating the visual experience of the space.
The sandblast and Micro-Top system provided the precision needed to execute the detailed patterns while delivering a slip-resistant, durable surface suitable for daily use. The result is a courtyard that is both playful and purposeful – designed to inspire students while standing up to the demands of an active school environment.
Interior Cafeteria: Built for Daily Use
Inside the cafeteria, 5,040 square feet of Ameripolish flooring creates a clean, modern surface engineered for long-term performance. Selected for its durability and ease of maintenance, Ameripolish provides a sleek finish capable of handling constant foot traffic, spills, and routine cleaning without sacrificing appearance.
The polished interior complements the exterior courtyard work, reinforcing a cohesive design language across the campus while supporting Lockhart ISD’s need for resilient, low-maintenance materials.
