First Baptist Church Dallas
Founded in 1868 in downtown Dallas, the First Baptist Church has grown to a membership of over 12,000 people. To accommodate the large congregation and to provide a unique and functional place of worship, First Baptist underwent a $135 Million expansion and renovation to its downtown campus. The project was the largest of its kind in modern church history and now covers six blocks in the heart of downtown Dallas.
Texas Bomanite was brought in by Manhattan Construction initially to polish and stain nearly 15,000 SF of concrete in the youth education building. As the project progressed, our scope broadened to include the main worship center, where we polished and stained the concrete floors and installed Micro-Top underneath the pews, for a total of over 23,300 SF. Micro-Top was chosen for its custom color offerings and a bright white color was chosen to complete the desired look.
The project was designed by Beck Architecture here in Dallas and allows for ample space for classes, meetings, play and fellowship. One of the most interesting focal points of the new renovation is the unique water feature that welcomes you into the main building. It was designed by famed fountain designers, Fluidity Design Consultants, out of Los Angeles.
