Announcing Changes in Executive Leadership

Chandler Balch and Tyler Balch have taken over the day to day responsibilities of managing the company. Chandler’s new role as President / Principal will include Field Operations oversight, while Tyler will be responsible for Estimating and Project Management in addition to the Financial Operations. Scott has moved into the role of Chairman.

 

Texas Bomanite has been blessed with strong leaders throughout our organization. All these people are still in place as we move forward. We fully expect to see the growth we have experienced in recent years to continue. We are thankful for all our General Contracting Partners and those in the Engineering and Design Business.

 

To celebrate his leadership in Texas Bomanite and this new chapter of life, here’s a little Q&A with Scott Balch himself on his time leading Texas Bomanite and his plans for retirement. 

 

Q&A WITH SCOTT BALCH

 

Q: What did you do before Texas Bomanite?

 

When I graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1980 I accepted a job in Dallas with Uvalde Construction Company.  In 1984 I went to work for L.H. Lacy Company. Both companies were paving contractors. My degree is in Civil Engineering and I had worked for civil contractors while going to college.

 

Q: How did you get started with Texas Bomanite?

 

When I decided to go into business on my own, the Bomanite License was available for the North Texas area.  After managing North Texas Bomanite for one year I purchased the company.

 

Q: When did TB become a family affair? 

 

My wife, Lynda, was the first family member to come on board.  Lynda had worked in banking prior to coming to work at TB. My brother, Jeff came to work next.  He handles the financial side of the company. Both Chandler and Tyler grew up in the company. After each completed college they came to work as well.

 

Q: What has been your favorite part about leading TB? 

 

I enjoy building things. Being an architectural concrete contractor involves constructing special finishes in concrete.  Because no two projects are the same there is a new challenge every day. Many of the projects we build are complex and technically challenging. There is never a slow day.

 

Q: What will you miss the most?

 

Working with our employees to see a well-planned project successfully completed.

 

Q: What are your plans for retirement? 

 

Still in the works!  Certainly we will be doing more of the things we enjoy doing.
