The Salvation Army Youth Education Town in Arlington was started in 2011 when the Dallas Cowboys, the NFL Charities and the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee selected the Salvation Army of Arlington to receive the area’s first Youth Education Town. The mission of the center is to create a safe and fun place for at-risk children and their families to learn, be creative and cultivate self-esteem and other valuable life skills.
In the summer of 2013, Manhattan Construction broughtTexas Bomanite in to polish and dye the new main lobby floors and refinish existing hallways in the facility. In all, the project spanned 6,775 SF of concrete, polished to an 800 grit finish. Black Orchid dye was used at different dilutions to soften the transition between the existing concrete floors and the concrete floors in the new expansion.
Manhattan Construction asked for donations to the project in the form of reduced or discounted pricing. The reduced building cost recognized by the Salvation Army allowed them to keep more funds for their programming. We were happy to be a part of the team and contribute to the cost savings!
