North Park

North Park

North Park is a new park facility for the City of Southlake. The park includes ball fields, a man-made lake, restrooms and a concession building. Texas Bomanite contracted with Miller Sierra Contractors, Inc. for the work at the entry drive and parking lots. Texas Bomanite also contracted with Dean Electric, Inc. for the plaza site work. Dean Electric was the construction manager hired by the City for overseeing the entire park construction. The project was designed by Schrickel, Rollins and Associates, Inc. with offices located in Arlington, Texas.

The work constructed for Miller Sierra included colored and stamped crosswalks and stamped median pavement. The crosswalks are 7” reinforced concrete consisting of a 7’ wide crosswalk surrounded with a 1’-6” stamped border. The pattern used was a slate texture skin, and the field was colored with Harvest Amber color hardener and a blend of Caramel & Rustbrown release agent. The border used the same texture skin and color hardener with a Brownstone release agent. The median pavement is 5” reinforced concrete utilizing the same texture and colors used for the crosswalks.

The work constructed for Dean Electric included colored and stamped plaza pavement. The plaza design was based on a central focal point with walkways radiating out from the center point which created a half circle-shaped plaza. The three radial walkways are 5” reinforced concrete consisting of a 12’ wide walkway with a 1’-6” border. The pattern used was slate texture skin, and the field was colored with Harvest Amber color hardener and a blend of Caramel & Rustbrown release agent. The border used the same texture skin and color hardener with a Brownstone release agent. The plaza areas located between the radial walkways consisted of 5” reinforced concrete with Coquina (aka salt finish) texture. The base color was Cream color hardener with Caramel release agent.
